A release details a suspected murder this week in Cleburne County.
On November 17, 2020 around 7:07pm Cleburne County Deputies responded to a house in the 900 block of Firehouse Road (located in Hopewell) regarding a female that had been found deceased.
When Deputies arrived, they located a female inside the house, identified as Addie “Christy” Owen, 41, of Quitman, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Detectives were contacted and are currently investigating the death as a homicide.
The Sheriff’s Office currently has a person of interest in custody, but is continuing to investigate all leads, including having served search warrants on a house, and a vehicle.
The name of the person being held for questioning is not being released at this time.
