Mountain View man killed in Sunday traffic accident

STONE COUNTY, Ark. – A 53-year-old man from Mountain View was tragically killed in a traffic accident early Sunday in Stone County.

Bob Herod, 53, of Mountain View, was driving his 2006 Ford F-250 west on Highway 14, west of Mountain View. At 12:45 AM, his vehicle crossed the center line, went into a ditch, then struck a power pole and over turned, according to Arkansas State Police. Herod passed away from the accident.

A woman, 53, of Marked Tree, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was injured and taken to UAMS Little Rock for treatment.

Weather conditions were clear with dry roads at the time of the accident.

Next of kin was notified, Trooper Jason Long reported.
