JONESBORO, Ark. – If you’re looking to be more informed about severe weather and possibly even help the National Weather Service during severe events, you may want to mark this event on your calendar.
From 9 AM to 11 AM Saturday morning (2/29/2020) at St. Bernards Auditorium in Jonesboro, a SKYWARN Storm Spotter Training event will be held.
The event is free to attend. It’s open to all members of the public as well.
Trained storm spotters are a key element of severe weather coverage by the weather service. They’re able to more accurately report events on the ground while forecasters work to inform the larger community.
The National Weather Service, Memphis will be at the event.
