
INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, Ark. – Human remains were discovered on Monday in Independence County.
Authorities were called to the rural residence in southern Independence County on Monday. The body was discovered there but the identity was not confirmed.
The remains were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for identification and to determine the cause of death, a sheriff’s department release said.
Update Thursday from Lonoke County Sheriff:
On Monday August 19, 2019 the Independence County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a deceased person. During their investigation the body that was located was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for identification and manner of death. On Wednesday August 21, 2019 Independence County Detectives notified Lonoke County Detectives of their ongoing investigation and that they believed the death occurred in Lonoke County.
Lonoke County Detectives immediately started investigating the incident. During the course of the investigation detectives learned that the incident occurred at a residence in the 3800 block of Hwy 89 south just south of the City of Cabot. The body of the victim was then carried by the suspects to Independence County where it was placed in a dumpster. Four suspects were developed and ultimately placed under arrest for the Offenses of Capital Murder, Abuse of a Corpse and Tampering with Physical Evidence. The victim is identified as James Bushart 49 of Lonoke County.
The four arrested are identified as Christy Dennis 41, Robert Clark 44, Timmy Hubmann 41 and Robert Garner 64 all of Lonoke County. They were transported to the Lonoke County Detention Center and placed with a No Bond pending 1st appearance.
