Fulton County judge charged with felony theft: Areawide

FULTON COUNTY, Ark. – Areawide Media reports that charges are filed in Fulton County Circuit Court against Fulton County Judge Jim Kendrick for theft of property in the felonious degree.

Kendrick’s charges were filed on Thursday, August 8, the information by journalist Kim Break said. The charge alleges that he did “purposely take or exercise unauthorized control over or make an unauthorized transfer of an interest in the property of another person with the purpose of depriving the owner of the property, a class “D” felony.

Kendrick, in the first six months of his administration, was under investigation for using county equipment and manpower to repair his personal driveway, a report by Kim Break said back in June.

For those unfamiliar, this is the County Judge position which functions like the county mayor in Arkansas. This is not a position that makes rulings in court, despite the confusing names.
