Teenage male arrested for Jonesboro shooting

JONESBORO, Ark. – Police stayed busy responding to shootings this week in Jonesboro, with the latest one involving a teenage suspect who had some type of relationship with the victim.

On Saturday, July 20, officers were called to the 1300 Block of Flint in reference to a shooting.  Upon their arrival, a victim could not be found at the scene. Officers quickly located the victim, a 21-year-old Jonesboro resident, at a local hospital where he was receiving treatment for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The suspect, a 14-year-old male, was taken into custody at the scene without incident.

Due to the relationship between the victim and suspect, JPD said they would not be able to release the names in this case.

The case is ongoing and the report wasn’t complete as of Saturday night.

Police also worked an armed robbery at Dollar General on North Church in Jonesboro Friday night, KAIT reported.

A double murder also took place this week in Jonesboro.

  1. There is no concrete answer to that question. The violence in our community is due to lack of diligence with the Maor, Sheriff and police Chief. They have xlaimed for years there was no gang or drug related problems in jonesboro. The people who get paid to recognize and uphold the law are short changing the citizens of our home. All in the name of money and greed. I blame them because we tried to talk to them 10 yrs ago and they denied the issues.
