MARKED TREE, Ark. – Police are investigating why a man walked into a city building with a stab wound to his neck this morning in Marked Tree.
The investigation was confirmed by Marked Tree Police Department to NEA Report.
Around 10:30am, a black male walked in Marked Tree Municipal Building with stab wound to left side of neck, an attorney in court shared with NEA Report. Our reliable source was just leaving District Court when this happened. Court had just wrapped up. However, he and others were told to remain in the courtroom while police, who were adjacent to this city building, investigated. The victim never entered the courtroom but he was so close, those exiting could see him from the door into court.
“They think he’s gonna be okay, missed carotid artery,” an attorney said.
The judge was already in his chambers. Right as our Jonesboro attorney got to the door, the apparent victim had just entered the city building wearing a white blood-soaked T-shirt. Blood was all over the floor. The man shouted for help, saying he had just been stabbed.
The attorney said those he spoke to believed the victim was stabbed at a different address. After, the man made his way to the Marked Tree City building.
The Marked Tree Police Department confirmed that there was an on-going investigation into the situation but the officer who spoke to a reporter wasn’t able to release more.
NEA Report will update this story with more information.
