JONESBORO, Ark. – It will be a little harder to buy ecstasy, crystal meth, and pot in Jonesboro for a little while because of the work of the Drug Task Force, JPD K9 Unit, and the Street Crimes Unit.
Officers with the JPD Street Crimes Unit reported at least two busts on Wednesday.
In the first arrest, posted to the new JPD Facebook page, three pounds of marijuana was found by K9 Rico along with paraphernalia and guns. No arrests have been released on this bust as of this publication.
A second drug bust happened with a suspect also ending up incarcerated. Michael Rodgers, 42, of Blytheville, was allegedly found with 38 grams of methamphetamine packaged for delivery Wednesday evening in Jonesboro. Prescription pills, scales, spoons, and almost $2,000 cash was found.

Rodgers was booked into Craighead County Detention Center at 5:55 PM Wednesday night on possession of meth with intent to deliver, greater than 10 grams but less than 200 grams. He will have a probable cause hearing today, said Sgt. Lyle Waterworth with JPD.
While they’ve already had a productive week, last week was one with even more results.
During one of two significant busts, nearly 2000 doses of Ecstasy was found along with three pounds of pot, over $48,000 in cash, a .45 caliber handgun, and a Cadillac CTS. Authorities say the Ecstasy was being made and distributed in and around Jonesboro.

A second bust resulted in 1.7 pounds of pot being confiscated, along with an unreported amount of Sativa/Indica wax, 31 THC pens, 10 packs of marijuana edibles, a rifle, and a handgun. $3,300 was also taken.
