
JONESBORO, Ark. – A felony fugitive came to the wrong town to hide.
On February 9, 2019, US Marshal TFO Erik Johnson was contacted by the U.S. Marshals Service, out of Detroit, Michigan, requesting assistance with the apprehension of Michael Flaker. Flaker was arrested around 6:14 p.m. for a felony warrant from Michigan.
Flaker was sentenced to 25 years for alleged child molestation, police learned. While in custody, he cut his ankle monitor and fled.
He was located and arrested at the Fairview Inn and Suites on Apache Drive in Jonesboro. He was taken into custody without incident by JPD Officers Johnson, Sgt. Dupuy and Ptl. Branstetter.
He was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center and will be held without bond pending the extradition process.
