JONESBORO, Ark. – A victim was shot at an apartment Saturday morning in Jonesboro. No medical status is currently known by the press and the investigation is still underway with much left to be learned, a press release said.

Around 10 AM Saturday morning, Oct. 6, The Jonesboro Police Department was called to an apartment in the 600 block of Gladiolus Drive with regards to a person being shot.  Officers arrived and located the victim near the entrance of the apartment complex. It was learned the victim had been shot and had suffered non life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical care. Officers obtained information that the subjects responsible for the shooting were inside the victim’s apartment.

The JPD Street Crimes Unit mobilized and were able to clear the apartment of any other people that were inside in order to secure the residence. While the apartment was being secured, three subjects had come to the Jonesboro Police Department on Caraway Road and turned themselves over to the custody of the officer stationed at the front desk. The three explained they were present during the shooting at Gladiolus Drive. The press release said the subjects went on to inform the officer they had transported a forth subject to the hospital to received medical care for the gun shot wound they had received while on Gladiolus Drive. The medical status of that individual is not known at this time.

Detectives with JPD were called to the scene of the shooting to collect evidence, process the scene, and to interview those subjects that had turned themselves in at the police department.

This is an ongoing investigation in it’s early stages, the release said. It did not indicate if any of the subjects were suspects or if any suspects were in custody. Information is very limited on what occurred or the motive behind the shooting, the release said.

Detectives request that if anyone has any information regarding this case to please contact the Jonesboro Police Department at 870-935-5657 or to please call Crimestoppers at 870-935STOP(7867) if you wish to provide information but want to remain anonymous.

  1. When is this shooting people everyday crap going to stop? When are the police going to start doing doing their jobs better instead of hiding beside a house waiting on speeder’s and start patrolling the higher crime rate areas and letting their presence be known instead of hanging out at IHOP that’s not what we’re paying them for.If their If they’re too scared they should find another job at a chicken or pig farm or something like that. Isn’t it weird how if you speak the truth about Jonesboro it’s always gets deleted?
