Possible burglary in-progress interrupted by church member in Brookland

BROOKLAND, Ark. – The New Antioch Baptist Church in Brookland is being watched closely by authorities after a possible attempted break-in was interrupted in-progress by a church member.

The report was taken on Sunday, August 26 but detailed an incident on Friday, August 17. A church member went to work at the church and when she arrived, noticed a white van without license plates parked in the back, near the dumpster. She took a photo of the van, which was running still but no one was around it.

It was then a white male subject came from around the back of the building and began to ask her about a lost dog. The report says she drove off.

Later on that same day, her husband was working at the church and found someone had drilled holes in the plywood covering a window. It appeared like an attempted break-in.

Extra patrols were planned around the church.
