JONESBORO, Ark. – A woman accused of taking the five-finger discount on some items during the self-checkout process at a Walmart in Jonesboro now faces shoplifting and drug charges.

Brenda K. Dickens, 62, of Harrisburg, was arrested Friday morning at the Highland Drive Walmart in Jonesboro. Officers arrived at about 10:20 AM where loss prevention employees already had Dickens seated. A loss prevention officer alleged Dickens took a bottle of hydrating serum from the store, out of the box, and put it in her purse. The report said she then went to the self-checkout lane and scanned one item while bagging multiple items.

The items listed as stolen in the report included a purse, shirts, pants, Ibuprofen pills, and Hydroboost hydrating serum.

Dickens was taken into custody and escorted out of the store. Walmart criminally banned her from ever returning. During a search, a small clear bag containing a number of Xanax pills were found. The report said Dickens admitted she did not have a prescription for the medication.

She was booked on a misdemeanor shoplifting charge and a misdemeanor possession charge for the pills.
