JONESBORO, Ark. – As a man was being taken to rehab in Jonesboro when his problems were compounded by a suspect allegedly stealing his car and leaving town.
At 11:05 AM on Friday morning, June 1, police in Jonesboro were dispatched to the 1200-block of Flemming where a 2008 black 4-door Audi had been reported stolen. A man, 23, of Longwood, Florida, said he came here to check himself into rehab. He said he made it to the location when he got into an argument with Jamie Lawerance, the suspect and driver.
The report said a female got out of the car because she was having a panic attack but when the complainant went to check on her, the suspect sped off. The report said he left very fast, last seen driving east bound on East Matthews Avenue. It was believed the suspect might possibly be driving to the St. Louis area.
No age was listed for Lawerance but he was described as a black male, 6’1″, slender at about 140 pounds, and not having a listed home address. The vehicle would have been occupied by a white female.
The vehicle was registered as stolen in polices’ database.
