Wednesday shooting now a murder investigation

JONESBORO, Ark. – The shooting Wednesday night at the Chateau Apartments has become fatal.

On Wednesday, April 25, 2018 Officers with the Jonesboro Police Department responded to a call of shots fired. At approximately 8:15 pm Officers were called to the 800 block of South Caraway Road where they located a male subject that had suffered a serious injury by gunshot. The male subject, later identified as 20 year old Devontae Dewayne Fowler of Jonesboro, was struck by one of the shots and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

Fowler was placed on life support after suffering a traumatic brain injury by gun fire. On Thursday, April 26, 2018 at approximately 6:00pm Fowler was removed from life support and was pronounced deceased by medical staff at approximately 11:00pm the same day.
