Wednesday morning could be icy in NEA

JONESBORO, Ark. – The National Weather Service in Memphis says Tuesday night into Wednesday morning could include ice accumulation. Freezing rain is in the forecast for tonight.

The NWS in Memphis says low pressure will track along a cold front that will be located across North Mississippi into portions of West Tennessee tonight. Temperatures will drop to below freezing across Northeast Arkansas, the Missouri Bootheel, and portions of Northwest Tennessee changing rain to freezing rain. Ice accumulations can be expected.

Wednesday morning travel conditions are already said to be in jeopardy by the weather service.

Up to two-tenths of an inch of ice are expected. It will begin between 6 PM tonight and 6 AM on Wednesday morning.
