Man charged with two counts of Capital Murder

Boyce said, “This is the first homicide involving a pregnant victim I have seen. The facts of this case are definitely heinous.”

NEWPORT, Ark. – Henry Boyce, Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney, announced today Rickey Don Crawford, Jr., 40, of Newport has been charged with two counts of Capital Murder. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on November 11, 2017 when Crawford’s wife, Amanda, was found dead in her home. Amanda Crawford’s unborn child also died.

Boyce said, “This is the first homicide involving a pregnant victim I have seen. The facts of this case are definitely heinous.”

Crawford is scheduled to appear in Jackson County Circuit Court tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. before Third Judicial District Circuit Judge Harold Erwin.
