JONESBORO, Ark. – A late evening robbery from last week has new developments, including an arrest.
Travis Centrell Williams, 37, of Jonesboro, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 12 in connection to the Church’s Chicken robbery, JPD Public Relations Officer Cpl. David McDaniel. He was booked into Craighead County Detention Center at 11:19 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of aggravated robbery.
There was a warrant issued for the arrest of another subject involved in the robbery as well. That suspect’s name has not been released.
While most looked forward to a Labor Day off from work, late Sept. 3, Jonesboro and Arkansas State University police worked a reported robbery call on Johnson Avenue in Jonesboro.
It was reported at the Church’s Chicken late Sunday night, which was completely dark by the time an NEA Reporter got to the scene – except for police nights nearby. On both sides of the chicken establishment, at College Corner apartments and on Russell Drive, officers had several units investigating in the area.
It is still an ongoing investigation under the direction of Detective Chad Hogard, McDaniel said.
