JONESBORO, Ark. – A news release Thursday said a Greene County man was arrested after a joint investigation between the Jonesboro Police Department and Arkansas State Police.
Officers say he was in possession of child pornography.
In July, JPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit received several tips that a man, later identified as Patrick Mays, 19, had numerous images of child pornography on his computer. Arkansas State Police had received similar tips about Mays. Both agencies combined their investigations, which culminated on August 30th with a search warrant and arrest warrant being executed, with the help of Arkansas Community Corrections Special Response Team.
Mays was arrested and several items of evidence were taken by investigators. Mays was taken to the Greene County Jail where he is being held pending a probable cause hearing, which should take place Thursday, August 31st.
