
HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – The waters of Cleburne County have claimed another life, a press release said.
At approximately 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, Cleburne County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a call of a possible drowning on the Little Red River at JFK Park. When deputies arrived at the scene, emergency service personnel were performing CPR on a white male, later identified as Toby Tyler, 18, of West Memphis.
Tyler was transported to Baptist Health in Heber Springs, and later transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. Tragically, he was pronounced deceased at approximately 7:45 pm at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
A witness said that he had seen Tyler fishing from the bank of the river prior to being found in the water.
This incident is under investigation, Sheriff Chris Brown said in a release.
