
MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – A man’s body was recovered on the lake following a possible drowning.
Emergency service personnel responded to a call from Jordan Marina at approximately 3:47 PM Sunday on a report that a man had jumped into the water of Lake Norfork from a boat and disappeared. This was reported by three other persons who were with the man when this occurred. The man was identified as Charles Hogan Daniels, 70, of Jordan. The location given was North of Jordan Island.
The Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Game and Fish, U. S. Army Corp of Engineers Rangers, and Fire/Rescue teams went to the area by boat and began to search for the man. At approximately 11:30 PM Sunday, search teams believed they had possibly found the body on sonar in approximately 115 feet of water.
The body Daniels was recovered just before noon Monday. Divers from the Arkansas Game and Fish recovered the body in approximately 114 feet of water.
The Baxter County Coroner has ruled it an accidental drowning.
