JONESBORO, Ark. – As a Jonesboro man waited for his friend to come to his apartment Wednesday afternoon, he never expected an armed robber to show up, too.
His report to police detailed exactly that as having transpired.
At 2:06 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, Jonesboro police were dispatched to 1830 East Johnson Avenue, an apartment complex, in reference to a robbery in progress. The alleged victim, 20, said he was in his apartment waiting on another person to come over. He heard a knock and told him to come in. The friend entered and closed the door but then, the door swung back open, the incident report describes.
In walked a suspect armed with a small black and chrome handgun, the report says. The resident said the suspect walked to him, stuck the gun in his face and said, “Give me everything you have or I will kill you.”
The resident said he told his friend to sit on the couch while the suspect grabbed money from his wallet and his cell phone. The tense situation ended when the suspect ran out of the apartment with $200 and a cell phone, the report concludes.
The man was described as a tall, dark skin black male with long dreads. Having just had a gun in his face per his report, the 20-year-old said he was too terrified to remember any other details.
The apartment manager informed police their security cameras weren’t working during the incident.
