POCAHONTAS, Ark. – A local church is taking a mission in its own community and hopes to help families rebuild who lost during the flood.
The Skaggs Church of Christ (East Pocahontas) is is issuing box-springs and mattress vouchers to affected families of the 2017 Flood. These vouchers can be redeemed at Dawson Furniture Store, in Pocahontas.
Any family that experienced a loss due to flood damage is eligible for assistance, said Jon Fears, of the church.
As of Wednesday, May 10, Skaggs had issued 82 vouchers to 82 different families, church leadership said online.
