Guitar and gun stolen in burglary

LAKE CITY, Ark. – A Craighead County man’s gun, guitar, and other items were stolen after he was hit by burglars while on vacation.

On Wednesday, April 26, Craighead County Sheriff’s Office took the report. Deputy Bobby Swan was dispatched at about 3:30 p.m. to Highway 158, the 5200-block to find a 31-year-old who had been the victim of a burglary. The man said he had been on vacation for the past week and when he arrived home, he realized he had been targeted by thieves.

Several items were missing. A guitar, an amplifier and a shotgun – Remington 887 Nitro Mag 12 gauge – were all stolen.

There were no signs of forced entry, making the man think it could be a friend of his who lived with him for six months, the report said. He advised his friend, who still has a key to the front door, had been kicked out approximately a year ago after being caught using meth.

The CCSO is investigating the case. The culprit faces a felony burglary charge.
