Programs in Art, Music and Theatre Recognize Top Graduates

JONESBORO – Eight students in art, music and theatre at Arkansas State University were recognized during Convocation of Scholars as the most outstanding graduating students in their respective degree programs, according to Dr. Carl Cates, dean, College of Liberal Arts and Communication.

In the Department of Art and Design, the graduating senior awards were presented to Hillary Brooks of Horseshoe Bend, Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in art (studio art emphasis); Riley Hancock of Russellville, BFA in graphic design; Jacklyn Risi of Jonesboro, BFA in graphic design (digital design emphasis); and Haley Voges of Worthing, S.D., BA in art (art history emphasis).

The graduating senior awards in the Department of Music were presented to Cassie Ferrell of Jonesboro, Bachelor of Music Education (BME) degree in instrumental music education; Katelin Rickman of Bono, BME in vocal music education; and Rebecca Adams of Morrilton, Bachelor of Arts in music.

The Department of Theatre graduating senior award recipient was Jacob George of El Dorado, Bachelor of Arts (BA) in theatre.

Each award is based on academic achievement and contributions to the respective department.
