JONESBORO – The Department of Music at Arkansas State University will present the Percussion Ensemble in its spring concert on Thursday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center’s Riceland Hall.
In addition to their program, they will be joined by A-State’s Small Group Jazz ensemble. This concert is free and open to the public.
A wide variety of pieces will be performed, including “Blue Ridge” by Ivan Trevino, “C Jam Blues” by Duke Ellington, “Now’s the Time” by Charlie Parker, “Metric Lips” by Bela Fleck and David Steinquest, and “Fractalia” by Owen Condon.
The Percussion Ensemble is under the direction of Craig Collison. Dr. Kenneth Carroll directs the Jazz Studies program.
