Pettie Sworn in as New Deputy Prosecutor for Third District

NEWPORT, Ark. – Henry Boyce, Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney, announced today the appointment of John D. Pettie to his staff at the Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney’s office as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.

Pettie, 35, of Newport, graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor degree from the University Of Arkansas School Of Law at Fayetteville in 2009. He began his legal career as an associate with Dover Dixon Horne PLLC in Little Rock. John and his family returned to his wife’s hometown of Newport in 2013 and Pettie became in house counsel for Jackson County Land and Title Services, Inc. Pettie has since established a private legal practice in Newport and will maintain his private practice as well as being a deputy prosecutor.

Pettit is on the board and legal counsel to the Arkansas Center for Independence, a board member of the Newport Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Newport Rotary Club. Pettie was recently chosen by ‘Arkansas Life’ as one of the Top 20 Lawyers in the state.

Boyce said, “We are very fortunate to welcome a lawyer of John’s caliber to the service of the people of the Third District.”
