Jonesboro woman robbed in her own home

JONESBORO, Ark. – Armed with a gun, a man robbed a woman in her own home, said the report filed with Jonesboro Police Department.

It was reported at about 10:10 p.m. Sunday at the 2200-block of Mary Jane Drive. The victim, a 53-year-old woman, left her door unlocked while waiting for her husband. With the screen door still latched, she heard the doorbell. When she checked the front door, she didn’t see anyone. The woman stuck her head out the door and that’s the moment she said a small silver gun was in her face.

“Give me your money,” the suspect said.

The woman said she turned around and ran back inside. At that time, her daughter saw the man and yelled she was going to get her gun. The victim said the man ran off at that point.

He was described as a black male with dreadlocks, wearing a white ball-cap and a red bandana around his face. The victim couldn’t remember what he wore, due to the events happening so quickly.

JPD is investigating. Anyone with information may contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 935-STOP (870-935-7867).
