Five teens arrested for Turtle Creek Pawn heist

JONESBORO, Ark. – A plethora find themselves facing serious charges over the Turtle Creek Pawn Shop break in on Feb. 5.

A total of five juveniles have been arrested for the crime and were taken before a Craighead County Circuit Court judge for their probable cause hearings on Tuesday. Bond was set at $250,000 for four of the juveniles and $350,000 for one.

The five are charged with commercial burglary, theft of property, criminal mischief and theft of a motor vehicle.

Three of the suspects are 17-years-old and two are 16-years-old. 

Additionally, an adult was arrested for theft by receiving (possession) of two of the guns that were stolen. Aaron Levar Lane Jr. was found in a residence where JPD and the Arkansas Department of Corrections were conducting a parole search of the homeowner, who was in custody. As the house was being cleared, Lane allegedly tossed two pistols out of the bedroom window outside to the north of the house, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Lead Detective Keri Varner issued a “Thank You” to all detectives and street officers assisting on gathering information on the case. The thanks was also extended to the public.

The investigation is “very much” an ongoing and active investigation, according to Varner.
