JONESBORO, Ark. – Some sell them as paperweights or decor, but the weapons known as brass knuckles are not a legal item to carry in Jonesboro.
A Jonesboro man found that out Wednesday.
At about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, a dark green Honda Accord was stopped at Court and Manila for a headlight and tail light that were out. The vehicle had also been earlier observed stopping at apartments on Dudley Street, known for high crime and drug activity, the report said.
The suspect male stepped out of his vehicle and consented to a search. That’s when police found metal knuckles in the right pocket of his hooded jacket.
The man said he didn’t know they were illegal and had purchased them at a store.
He was issued a written warning for the lighting violations. The metal knuckles were seized and logged into evidence to be destroyed.
