JONESBORO, Ark. – One the more prominent and newer clothing stores in Jonesboro will be closing soon.
The building housing Hays Clothing Store on Caraway Road and Highland Drive in Jonesboro is being sold to a local technology business. Haag Brown Commercial Real Estate Principle Josh Brown confirmed the news to NEA Report on Wednesday.
Hays will lease the building until their merchandise is moved.
The 55,000 square foot facility was home to the Coca-Cola organization for decades before closing in 2010. For almost five years, the property remained vacant of activity until the clothing store purchased it just in time for the 2015 Christmas holiday season. The interior was remodeled beautifully and the store, located in a prime and oft-traveled area of town, also upgraded the looks of the area with a remarkable storefront.
The store has spent most of 2016 hosting weekend and sometimes week-long tent sales in their front parking lot. Merchandise ranges from sporting goods to fitness and everyday apparel.
The Searcy-based company chose Jonesboro to move into because of growth and the Christian principles in the community, according to an interview with TalkBusiness.net.
The technology-related business purchasing the property is expected to be announced Friday.
