Stabbing reported in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – While many went to the polls Tuesday, one woman went to the hospital after being attacked and stabbed with scissors repeatedly, an incident report details.

Jonesboro Police Department was dispatched to St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center, making contact with a nurse in the emergency room who advised police about the attack. The victim, already in a room, was stabbed on her thigh, her left forearm, her left upper arm, behind her ear, and twice near her eye. 

According to the victim, and several witnesses, a suspect attack her with a pair of scissors following some type of disagreement that morning around 10:30 a.m. at the area of Belt and Melrose. The victim said they have had disagreements before but nothing like this.

The suspect has not been named by police to the media, but they do know her identity. She is a female, 20, from Jonesboro. She reportedly lives in an apartment on Marshall Street.

Detectives are investigating.
