JONESBORO, Ark. – Jonesboro police continue to investigate a Friday night shooting incident that left one man hospitalized.
Police were called to a business on Melrose Street at approximately 9:25 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, officers found Shannon Gates, 32, inside the business, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the lower abdomen.
Gates told officers that three masked men wearing all-black clothing chased him inside his business, Gates Detail Shop, and shot him, fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. Gates was taken to a local hospital, where he is still being treated.
Patrol and K-9 officers established a perimeter around the crime scene and attempted to track the assailants without success. No arrests have been made.
