JONESBORO, Ark. – While a Bono woman was going to make a purchase, she found an October surprise on her credit.
Someone had opened a Verizon Wireless account in her name, according to her report Friday with Craighead County Sheriff’s Department. The account was in collections and appeared on her credit report, affecting her credit score while trying to make a purchase.
The most shocking element of the story was the amount of the delinquency.
$4,284 from April, 2016 to September, 2016 was unpaid, according to the report.
The woman contacted Verizon, who instructed her to file a police report and send it along.
