JONESBORO, Ark. – A Jonesboro man was airlifted to Memphis following a motorcycle wreck caused by a deer Monday night.
It is time of the year when deer are restless and many rural areas are fraught with the creatures passing across roadways. At about 9 p.m. Monday night, a serious crash was caused by this very occurrence.
Jonesboro Police Department reported, Elmer Bruner, 56, of Jonesboro, was driving his 1999 Harley-Davidson on east Thomas Green Road at Dan Lee Drive when he struck a deer, losing control of the bike.
The motorcycle began skidding approximately 160 feet until it struck a mailbox, throwing Bruner from the bike.
Medic One ambulance service was called to the scene but Hospital Wing air ambulance service was later called in to transport Bruner to The Med in Memphis, Tenn. His condition was unknown to police as of Monday night.
