Contested municipal races in Randolph County

POCAHONTAS, Ark. – Only a handful of city races in Randolph County will be contested in November.

In Pocahontas, the race for Alderman Ward 2 Position 2 is the only contest within the city. Incumbent W. Rainer DeClerk is challenged by Danny Swann.

In Reyno, the race for Alderman Ward 1 Position 1 is between incumbent Kathy Jansen (I) and Wayne Debord, the challenger.

In Biggers, Maynard, and O’Kean, all alderman positions are uncontested. However in O’Kean, position 1 and position 2 will not see the incumbents from previous tenures winning. Instead, for position 1, Thomas Castelan (I) will take the seat. Position 2 will be taken by Anthony Maple (I).

In Ravenden Springs, Lisa Poola (I) was the only candidate to file for Alderman Position 1. Likewise, Oscar Smith was the only candidate filing for position 4, with neither being incumbents to their respective seats. Alderman Position 5 will be contested between incumbent Rebecca M.
