POCAHONTAS, Ark. – Police were investigating a shooting said to have killed a man early Saturday in the City of Pocahontas.
Local sources both close to the incident and in city operations confirmed to NEA Report

Nick Wayne Dawson, 28, of Pocahontas, was killed in a shooting around 4:30 a.m. at the 1400-block of Broadway Street.
Dawson was arrested on methamphetamine charges in Walnut Ridge earlier this year.
According to a law enforcement source, the individual believed to have shot the man is a relative of a Pocahontas Police Department investigator.
Pocahontas police have confirmed the case is being investigated by Arkansas State Police on Saturday afternoon, as would be protocol for a case with a conflict of interest.
