Rash of overnight vehicle break-ins happening in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. — A number of police reports were made overnight of vehicle breaking and entries that police are grouping together based off of their location and time frames.

A woman reported to Jonesboro police on Thursday several items had been taken from her car. She said that between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday someone had gone into her unlocked car and taken her purse, wallet, a book of checks and 45 Zoloft pills and 20 Prilosec pills with the victim’s name on them.

According to the police report, this was the second report taken from the area for the same offense. At about 10:15 a.m. the same day another woman reported a theft at her home at the 2000-block of Britton Drive.

The victim said sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. on the same day an unidentified suspect entered her unlocked 2011 Nissan passenger car and stole her wallet. The victim told police her wallet only had a couple of credit cards and her personal ID items.

The victim stated she had no idea who could have done this.

Another vehicle breaking and entering was reported on Thursday afternoon on the same 2000 block of Britton Drive by a victim who stated items were taken from his unlocked vehicle between 9 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.

The victim said a few items were taken from his car including his debit card and money clip. He also mentioned that he posted about the incident on his community online board with responses coming back showing several more break-ins in the area.
