HARRISBURG, Ark. – An area woman was killed in a crash over the Independence Day weekend in Poinsett County.
Venisa Lynn Jones, 52, of Harrisburg, was killed Saturday at about 3 p.m. on Arkansas 69 at Shady Grove.
According to the Arkansas State Police crash report, Jones’ 2008 Nissan was headed eastbound when it ran off the right side of the road. Jones overcorrected, the trooper observed, and went into the westbound lane causing a 2012 Ford truck to strike her car in the passenger side.
Conditions were dry and clear at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Ford vehicle was reportedly treated at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
