Parking for the Fourth Fest fireworks display at Joe Mack Campbell Park on the
evening of July 4 will be available inside the park. Jonesboro police will assist
motorists in and out of the park.
Due to safety concerns, parking will not be permitted on the shoulders of Dan Avenue
or on the shoulders of U.S. 63. The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department
is expected to place temporary “No Parking” signs along the shoulders of U.S. 63 prior
to the event.
State statute prohibits parking on the shoulders, the median, the ramps, and all other
highway rights-of-way along interstate or fully controlled access highways.
Jonesboro officers and Arkansas State Police troopers will be on hand to enforce the
prohibition against parking on the roadway shoulders.
