Missing man found dead in Poinsett County

MARKED TREE, Ark. – A search for a missing man ended with tragic results Thursday in Poinsett County.

Roger Vick, 66, of Marked Tree, went missing on June 5 at his home on Arkansas 75 South, Poinsett County Chief Deputy Kevin Molder told NEA Report Thursday. His body was found Thursday in a rice field off Poinsett 401.

“We were searching everything by boat, by four wheeler, by air, and had some people help us with planes,” Molder said. “We found what we believed to be his remains today.”

The remains were sent to the state medical examiner for autopsy.

Vick’s green Hyundai Santa Fe sports utility vehicle was found Wednesday night on the levee between Arkansas 75 and 42, at the Poinsett and Cross County lines, Molder also said.

Marked Tree Fire Department, Lepanto Fire Department, Tyronza Fire Department, Poinsett County Search and Rescue Team from the Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office and Cross County Sheriff’s Office all assisted in the search operations.

“We worked together and conducted the search together,” Molder said.
