Missouri Man Killed in I-55 Crash Near Turrell

Franklin Alan McArthur, 66, of Hayti, Missouri, was killed Oct. 7 in a crash involving two trucks on I-55 near Turrell, according to a preliminary Arkansas State Police summary.

TURRELL, Ark. – A Missouri man was killed Oct. 7, 2026, in a crash involving two trucks on Interstate 55 near Turrell, according to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary.

Franklin Alan McArthur, 66, of Hayti, Missouri, was driving a 2012 Kenworth northbound near mile marker 21 when it struck the rear of a trailer pulled by a 2022 Peterbilt, the summary says.

The Peterbilt was stopped in the right lane because traffic had backed up. After striking the trailer, the Kenworth left the roadway and hit a guardrail, according to ASP.

The crash happened at 12:18 p.m. No injuries were listed in the summary. ASP reported clear weather and a dry road.
