FORREST CITY, Ark. — A tip from a cloud-based storage service led to an investigation and the arrest of a Forrest City man on four child exploitation counts, Arkansas State Police said Friday.
Ja’Quan Ivey, 18, was taken into custody Thursday, Sept. 17, in the lobby of the St. Francis County Detention Center. Special agents with ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division booked him on four counts of pandering or possessing a visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, according to the agency.
ASP said the investigation began after the storage service flagged the uploading of suspected child sexual abuse material.
State police special agents, assisted by the Arkansas Highway Police, executed a search warrant July 31 at a residence on Summer Street in Forrest City. Investigators seized an electronic device during the search, the release said.
Ivey’s bond was set at $100,000. He remained in the St. Francis County Detention Center as of the Sept. 18 release, with a court appearance scheduled for Oct. 5, according to ASP.
The investigation remains active, and the agency said no further information was available.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
