Kyle Petty Charity Ride To Stop In Hardy This Week

HARDY, Ark. — NASCAR legend Kyle Petty is scheduled to stop in Hardy this week as part of the 30th annual Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America.

Petty and riders taking part in the cross-country motorcycle trek are scheduled to be at the Hardy Civic Center at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, according to Visit Hardy Arkansas. The public is invited to attend, cheer on the riders, meet participating celebrities, purchase memorabilia and donate to Victory Junction.

The ride began May 1 in Sonoma, California, and is scheduled to end May 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina, crossing 11 states in nine days. Wednesday’s route takes riders from Springfield, Missouri, to Memphis, Tennessee.

The charity ride raises funds and awareness for Victory Junction, a year-round camp founded in honor of Petty’s son, Adam. The camp provides children living with complex medical and physical needs opportunities to take part in adaptive programs and camp activities free from barriers they may face in daily life.

Since 1995, more than 9,575 riders have logged 13.3 million cumulative motorcycle miles and raised more than $23 million for Victory Junction and other children’s charities, according to the organization.

Several well-known figures are listed as participating in this year’s milestone ride, including NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty, NASCAR Hall of Famer Matt Kenseth, Clint Bowyer, David Ragan, Ken Schrader, Kenny Wallace, Max Papis, JR Hildebrand, Rick Allen, Rutledge Wood and others.
