K9 Track Leads To Arrest After Man Allegedly Assaults Wife, Threatens To Kill Her

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A suspect was arrested Saturday after police say he assaulted his wife and threatened to kill her during a domestic disturbance, according to a probable cause affidavit from the Paragould Police Department.

On March 7, 2026, officers were dispatched to an address in the city regarding a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they made contact with the alleged victim, who was described in the affidavit as visibly distraught.

According to the affidavit, the victim told officers her husband, Gregory Griffin, 32, attacked her. Officers reported observing visible swelling to the victim’s face and documented blood coming from her mouth, nose, and left ear.

The victim told officers that at one point Griffin allegedly threw her to the ground and placed his hand over her mouth and nose in an attempt to stop her from breathing. She also told police Griffin threatened to kill her if she contacted law enforcement, according to the affidavit.

While officers spoke with the victim, other officers attempted to make contact with Griffin inside the residence. The affidavit states Griffin refused to come out and eventually fled through a bedroom window.

Police deployed a K9 unit and later located Griffin in a wooded area behind the residence, according to the affidavit.

Officers took Griffin into custody. The affidavit also notes Griffin was previously found guilty of aggravated assault on a family or household member in 2024.

Griffin was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member, third-degree domestic battery, and terroristic threatening, all Class D felonies, along with fleeing, a misdemeanor.

Jail records show Griffin’s bail was set at $100,000.

The alleged victim was treated for injuries at the scene.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
