According to the probable cause affidavit from Arkansas State University Police, officers observed Chugani on camera March 5, 2026, appearing to be a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop near 120 Dean Street on the Arkansas State University campus. Following the detention of the occupants, officers developed probable cause to obtain a search warrant for Chugani’s apartment located on campus, according to the affidavit.

During the search of the apartment, officers located a Glock Model 21 handgun, packaging materials, digital scales, and approximately 29 grams of marijuana consistent with the sales and distribution of narcotics, according to police.

After being advised of his rights, Chugani allegedly admitted to selling marijuana on campus and admitted knowledge of the firearm being in his bedroom, according to the affidavit.
