Domestic Disturbance Leads to Felony Arrest in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A reported domestic disturbance in Paragould led to a felony arrest after officers encountered a woman fleeing a residence and later documented visible injuries, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police said officers responded to the scene on Jan. 29, 2026, where they observed a female running from the residence in distress. Officers made contact with the suspect, who told police the two had been involved in an argument.

According to the affidavit, the suspect initially provided officers with multiple false names and dates of birth before his identity was confirmed. Investigators later determined the suspect was on probation and subject to an active search waiver.

Officers reported locating a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in plain view in the area where the suspect had been sitting.

The alleged victim told officers she had been dragged outside by her hair. Police documented abrasions and bruising on her body, significant redness on her feet, and hair found on the floor of the residence, according to the affidavit.

After being taken into custody, officers said the suspect began slamming his head into the cage of a patrol vehicle, causing damage to the unit and injuring himself. Police reported the suspect received medical attention before being transported to jail.

Investigators also noted the suspect has a prior domestic violence charge within the past five years.

Mark Buie, 25, faces charges of third-degree domestic battery, a Class D felony, along with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing governmental operations, disorderly conduct, and second-degree criminal mischief.

Bond was set at $50,000.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
