Two Arrested in Fatal Caraway Road Shooting

JONESBORO, Ark. — Two suspects, including a juvenile, have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Monday night in the 2500 block of Caraway Road, according to the Jonesboro Police Department.

Police said dispatch received a “shots heard” call at approximately 10:44 p.m. Monday. Officers, including members of the Bravo Squad, were quickly dispatched to the area.

An officer already in the vicinity encountered two individuals. When a second officer arrived to assist, police discovered Shane Delaney, 50, lying in the parking lot behind a hotel with an apparent gunshot wound, according to authorities. Delaney was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police said Eugine Jackson and a 16-year-old male were taken into custody and booked into the Craighead County Detention Center on charges of first-degree murder.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    I’m sure spending millions to widen Caraway road would help prevented this?
    $70 million for the Ridge Athletic Center would help to prevent this?
    Trails to nowhere would help to prevent this?
    Expansion of Creath Street would help to prevent this?
