Haynes Announces Bid for Lake City Mayor

LAKE CITY, Ark. — A candidate has announced his intention to run for Lake City mayor in the next election.

Daniel Haynes announced on January 1 that he would seek the office of mayor of Lake City.

“My name is Daniel Haynes, and I am running for Mayor of Lake City because I believe in putting our community first—always.

I am married to my wife, Cynthia, and together we are raising a blended family. We adopted three boys, and we each brought a daughter into our family. Family, faith, and community are at the heart of everything I do.

For more than a decade, I have been actively involved in serving Lake City. I have proudly served as the Little League Park Director for the past 10 years and am the President of Lake City Community Fest (formerly Spring Fest), also for the past 10 years. I have overseen our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas Parade for over a decade as well. My wife and I have also placed Blessing Boxes throughout town to help neighbors who are in need of food.

I have served in law enforcement for 17 years, including 7½ years right here in Lake City. Through my work, I have built strong relationships within our community and surrounding areas. I believe in treating everyone equally and with respect, and I have always been fair—even when it wasn’t the easy choice.

I hold an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and have successfully helped secure several grants for our ballpark and police department while serving our community.

I believe in Lake City and am grateful to be part of so many great things happening here. With proven leadership and a community-first mindset, I am ready to help lead Lake City toward an even better future.”
