Two Arrested After Vape Shop Robbery Caught on Surveillance Video

JONESBORO — Two suspects were arrested after a vape shop robbery on Christmas Day was captured on surveillance cameras, according to a probable cause affidavit released Monday.

According to the affidavit, Jeremy Cole, 41, entered the store on Dec. 25 holding a red pipe wrench and a large bag. Police said Cole was wearing a ski mask that did not fully cover his face as he moved through the store.

Investigators said Cole took nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise during the robbery. Surveillance footage also showed Cornell A. Taylor, 41, inside the store at the same time, communicating with Cole and acting as an accomplice during the incident, according to the report.

Officers later located and stopped a vehicle connected to the robbery and apprehended both suspects a short time later. Police said a red pipe wrench and a black ski mask were recovered during the traffic stop.

Both Taylor and Cole were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, a Class Y felony, and felony theft. Bail for each suspect was set at $10,000 cash or surety by Judge David Boling.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
