JONESBORO, Ark. — More than 92 grams of fentanyl and hundreds of grams of methamphetamine were seized during a traffic stop near Highland Drive and Red Wolf Boulevard, leading to the arrests of two suspects, according to two probable cause affidavits heard in district court Friday.
On Dec. 16, 2025, Jonesboro police stopped a Ford pickup for improper turns and failing to stop at stop signs. Michael Giddings was seated in the passenger seat, and Richard Giddings was driving.
According to police, Michael Giddings was on active parole with a search waiver on file. A search connected to Michael Giddings resulted in the seizure of 92.58 grams of fentanyl, 309.06 grams of methamphetamine, 50.3 grams of marijuana, multiple Schedule 2, Schedule 4 and Schedule 5 pills, digital scales, meth pipes, syringes, baggies commonly used for packaging narcotics, and $2,105 in cash. Michael Giddings was interviewed and claimed ownership of the items located, the affidavit states.
Michael Giddings, 54, of Wynne, was arrested on charges of trafficking fentanyl and trafficking a controlled substance, both Class Y felonies. He also faces a Class B felony possession charge; a Class C felony possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver; two Class D felony possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver charges; running a stop sign; and driving on a suspended license.
District Judge Tommy Fowler set Michael Giddings’ bond at $250,000, citing a lengthy criminal history, multiple failures to appear, and concerns related to fentanyl trafficking.
Police said Richard Giddings was on supervised release with a search waiver on file. He was searched at the scene, where officers reported locating a small bag of methamphetamine and a meth pipe on his person. He was later transported to his residence on Richmond Drive, where officers conducted a search.
That search reportedly yielded 5.3 grams of marijuana, two Schedule 4 pills, 11.73 grams of methamphetamine, and one Schedule 2 pill.
Richard Giddings, 56, of Jonesboro, is charged with possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with purpose to deliver greater than 10 grams, a Class A felony; two felony possession charges; and two misdemeanor possession charges.
His bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
